The truth is that baking soda alone does not cure bladder infections unless you take a great deal of vitamin C along with it in order to have a direct balance between acidity and alkalinity in the body. While it's true that it does balance the body's pH level, it actually alkalinizes the urine, which can make some bladder infections worse. In addition, taking too much of it can result in a colon blockage and infection of the colon. Your electrolytes can be really messed up and you can develop muscle tics, seizures, dizziness, excessive thirst and disorientation.
Finally, too much baking soda can lead to an extreme lack of appetite mood swings, severe headaches, frequent urination with urgency of urination, weakness, and debility. If you still choose to take it for bladder infections, remember these simple rules:
· Never take baking soda treatments for longer than two weeks at a time as it can cause increased problems in your body.
· You should take no more than a total of seven doses of baking soda or a total of 3.5 teaspoons in any 24 hour period of time. If you happen to be older than 60 years, you should only take 1.5 teaspoons of it in a 24 hour period of time.
· You should never take in any un-dissolved baking soda. This can harm your system.
· If you take it on a full stomach, you may experience increased abdominal cramping and pain, with difficulty digesting your food.
